About The Position

SnowWorX is hiring an experienced, dependable snow professional for a seasonal, on-call commercial snow route in the Poughkeepsie–Hyde Park–Wappingers Falls, New York area. The operator is responsible for approximately three to six smaller commercial properties, including retail and automotive service locations. The role involves driving between properties, operating a plow and salter, and performing limited sidewalk and entrance clearing. Shoveling is an expected part of the hands-on position.

The company provides a new truck equipped with a plow and salter, which the employee keeps throughout the winter, as well as a company credit card for authorized fuel and work expenses. Training is provided on company procedures, route expectations, equipment, and digital work orders. Additional shoveling personnel may be assigned during larger storms, though the operator still performs minor shoveling.

This is seasonal, weather-dependent work with variable hours and required availability throughout the winter for snow and ice events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. Employees use their own smartphone and active data plan for work orders and team communications.

Requirements

• Experience operating a plow truck and salter; commercial-property experience is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable for operating company vehicles.
• Reliable availability for the entire winter and on-call availability as needed for snow and ice events, including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to respond when called and remain available for assigned work during the event.
• Reliable personal smartphone with an active data plan and willingness to use company work-order apps.
• Ability and willingness to shovel and work outdoors in winter conditions.
• Dependability, good judgment, and care for company equipment and customer properties.

Responsibilities

• Plow parking lots, drive lanes, entrances, and designated areas across the assigned route.
• Operate the salter and perform snow and ice services as directed, including return visits when needed.
• Shovel small sidewalk and entrance areas during lighter storms and perform other required minor shoveling.
• Complete every assigned property to company standards and communicate progress or problems to dispatch.
• Use a personal smartphone to complete company work orders, record service information, submit required photos, and communicate with the team.
• Check the assigned truck and equipment and promptly report damage or mechanical issues.
