Snow Heavy Equipment Operator - Seasonal
About The Position
North Atlantic Snow is hiring seasonal Snow Heavy Equipment Operators to operate loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment on commercial properties during the winter storm season. Work locations are throughout Seacoast New Hampshire, Southern New Hampshire, Southern Maine, and Northeastern Massachusetts, with assignments based on the employee’s residence and operational needs. The listed pay rate is $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience. Operators follow storm plans prepared by the management team, document completed work using mobile apps, and may work early mornings, late nights, and emergency events. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and extended hours during storms. The service area includes numerous communities across New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts; during winter storms, the operation has 200+ employees, 100+ trucks and loaders, and services 300+ commercial accounts.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in snow and ice management; veteran operators with limited snow experience may be trained.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Dependable and safety-conscious, with pride in quality work.
- Comfort using mobile apps to log completed work.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and for extended hours during storms.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate heavy equipment safely.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Experience operating heavy equipment or plowing.
- A valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Operate front-end loaders, skid steers, and other heavy equipment to clear snow and ice from commercial properties.
- Plow or scrape snow, load trucks with snow, or apply salt as directed.
- Follow the storm plan created by the management team.
- Use mobile apps to record completed work and ensure accurate reporting.
- Work early mornings, late nights, and emergency storm events as needed.
