About The Position

The Recreational Coordinator serves as direct support to assist participants in educational progression, sports activities, and their youth and community development.

Requirements

  • Minimal High School Diploma.
  • Strong knowledge of sports and recreation.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in organizing tournaments and working with youth.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Up-to-date physical and TB test.
  • 3 Written references.
  • Commitment to the Mission and Vision of Catholic Charities Community Services Archdiocese of New York.
  • Must maintain or complete school in an academic standing; verify transcript.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the sports and recreation components of the SNL program.
  • Following up and maintaining a core group of 30 participants to receive wrap-around services.
  • Managing the gym during SNL sessions.
  • Creating lesson plans pertaining to multiple sports.
  • Supervising coaches.
  • Coordinating sports and youth development workshops.
  • Providing weekly numbers to leadership.
  • Attending trainings and meetings scheduled by CCCS and DYCD.
  • Attending staff meetings.
