About The Position

Vanguard EMS is seeking qualified and experienced electronics assembly and manufacturing personnel. We are a service business focused on serving our customers, suppliers, and communities. This position provides soldering support to the SMT line, removes and replaces SMT components on printed circuit boards to specification, inspects own work to guarantee conformance to company quality standards, and provides stewardship of assets. The role performs a wide variety of SMT functions, including ground plane soldering and SMT Soldering of electronic components using no-clean and organic flux and both lead and lead-free solder at IPC Class II and Class III levels. Basic knowledge is preferred, but those with limited or no prior experience will be considered.

Requirements

  • Basic level of proficiency in computer systems

  • Ability to prioritize and organize several activities to meet daily requirements
  • Ability to work overtime when needed
  • Demonstrated ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures required
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with multiple levels of personnel throughout manufacturing required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively manipulate extremely small and/or fragile components and tools
  • Ability to use visual aids, complicated drawings to verify quality products
  • Communicate in person, over the phone, email, internet or in writing in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make productive use of time
  • Ability to read, write and communicate English
  • Ability to perform accurate mathematic calculations ( add, subtract, divide)
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all Vanguard’s policies, processes and workplace guidelines

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of experience with electronic components preferred
  • IPC Certification
  • Experience soldering lead-free components

  • Remove and replace SMT components on printed circuit boards to specification
  • Inspect own work to guarantee conformation to company quality standards
  • Perform a wide variety of SMT functions, including ground plane soldering and SMT Soldering of electronic components including resistors, capacitors, connectors, IC's, switches, crystals, using no-clean and organic flux and both lead and lead-free solder at a IPC Class II and Class III levels.
