About The Position

Vanguard EMS, Inc. is seeking qualified and experienced electronics assembly and manufacturing personnel. Vanguard EMS is a leading electronics manufacturing services (EMS) supplier for companies in the medical, aerospace, defense, industrial, and communication segments in the Western U.S. The company emphasizes customer service, employee value, and a positive culture. This position provides soldering support to the SMT line, involving the removal and replacement of SMT components on printed circuit boards to specification. The role requires inspecting one's own work to ensure quality standards and stewardship of company assets. Under limited supervision, the associate will perform various SMT functions, including ground plane soldering and soldering of electronic components like resistors, capacitors, connectors, and IC's, using specific fluxes and solder types at IPC Class II and III levels. Basic knowledge of assigned functions is preferred, but individuals with limited or no prior experience will be considered.

Requirements

Basic level of proficiency in computer systems.

Ability to work overtime when needed.

Effectively manipulate extremely small and/or fragile components and tools.
Ability to use visual aids, complicated drawings to verify quality products.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and make productive use of time.
Ability to read, write and communicate English.
Ability to perform accurate mathematic calculations (add, subtract, divide).
Ability to understand and adhere to all Vanguard’s policies, processes and workplace guidelines.

Nice To Haves

Three or more years of experience with electronic components preferred.
IPC Certification.
Experience soldering lead-free components.

Responsibilities

Provide soldering support to the SMT line in a timely manner.
Remove and replace SMT components on printed circuit boards to specification.
Inspect own work to guarantee conformation to company quality standards.
Provide overall stewardship of the assets to our shareholders.
Perform a wide variety of SMT functions, including ground plane soldering and SMT Soldering of electronic components including resistors, capacitors, connectors, IC's, switches, crystals, using no-clean and organic flux and both lead and lead-free solder at a IPC Class II and Class III levels.
Follow process documents and workflow instructions.
Follow all state, federal and local employment laws/all Vanguard work rules, policies and procedures.
