About The Position

Milwaukee Electronics is seeking an SMT Process Technician to join their production support team. This role is crucial for troubleshooting build processes, developing machine programs, and ensuring quality on the production floor. The technician will work closely with operators and engineers, supporting both prototype and NPI assemblies. The company has over 70 years of experience in electronics manufacturing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing, equipment programming, and operation
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills with the ability to work across multiple software systems
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong problem-solving skills — able to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manufacturing documents, and machine reports
  • Ability to work both metric and imperial measurement systems
  • Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or individual granted asylum/refugee status in the U.S.) or otherwise satisfy ITAR compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year technical certificate or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with PCB CAD systems
  • Prior experience with Factory Logix MES or Epicor ERP
  • Background in NPI or prototype production support

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate engineering support for build processes and equipment in response to production floor issues
  • Oversee production for prototype and NPI assemblies requiring additional engineering input
  • Develop, manage, and update machine programs for production equipment
  • Program and maintain jobs in Factory Logix MES, ensuring customer data and datasheets are accurately reflected in build documentation
  • Update Materials Lists, Factory Logix integration settings, and special instructions in Epicor ERP
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes
  • Procure and modify tooling and fixtures to optimize the manufacturing process
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for equipment programming and operation
  • Review customer documentation for clarity and flag discrepancies through established issue systems
  • Train operators and technicians on procedures and processes; document training delivery
  • Participate in new equipment installations
  • Drive continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and safe work practices
