About The Position

Volt is Immediately Hiring for SMT Machine Operator in Lake Forest, CA As an SMT Machine Operator, you will: Set up, operate, and monitor SMT production equipment to ensure quality and efficiency. Load and manage feeders, reels, trays, and stick components. Identify and verify SMT and through-hole electronic components. Adjust component rotation, alignment, and placement parameters as needed. Interpret BOMs, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation. Create and modify machine programs for new product builds. Utilize fiducials, board origins, and alignment features to optimize placements. Review component datasheets and verify polarity requirements for diodes, LEDs, and other polarized components. Perform routine machine checks and troubleshoot placement or alignment issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent SMT operating experience.
• Hands-on experience in an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of SMT equipment, feeders, and component placement processes.
• Ability to read BOMs, assembly drawings, and technical documentation.
• Experience creating or modifying SMT machine programs.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine setup and alignment issues.
• Experience with PCB assembly and electronic manufacturing processes.
• Previous machine setup and programming experience.

• Machining or related manufacturing experience is a plus.
