About The Position

The SMP Engineer (Electrical) supports the safe design, construction, commissioning, startup, and reliable operation of assigned steelmaking or rolling facilities with a high degree of independence and technical leadership. The role works across HPLS functions and external partners to deliver safe, compliant, timely, and sustainable results during project execution and ongoing operations. SMP means Steelmaking Plant. The facility melts and refines direct reduced iron, scrap, and other metallic inputs to produce molten steel with the required temperature, chemistry, cleanliness, and quality for casting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline aligned with the assigned specialty.
  • At least 6 years of relevant professional experience; level and scope will be calibrated to demonstrated capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, analyze information, document work, and collaborate across functions.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft 365 and job-relevant enterprise or technical systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in EAF steelmaking, continuous casting, direct reduction, hot rolling, cold rolling, galvanizing, or related heavy manufacturing.
  • Experience with greenfield projects, OEM/vendor coordination, commissioning, and production ramp-up.
  • Working knowledge of P&IDs, equipment drawings, process control narratives, risk assessments, and applicable industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage the SMP(Steelmaking Plant) Operation and Maintenance.
  • Review SMP Documents & drawings and Develop each manual.
  • Manage of SMP construction, erection, commissioning in the electrical part.
  • Develop operation and Maintenance plan, operator training in the electrical part.
  • Manage of SMP Operation, Maintenance and safety.
  • Review process and equipment design packages, specifications, calculations, drawings, and vendor documentation for technical completeness and operability.
  • Develop operating, maintenance, inspection, startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures for the assigned facility.
  • Plan and support FAT, SAT, cold commissioning, hot commissioning, performance testing, and production ramp-up.
  • Define operating parameters, equipment acceptance criteria, spare-parts needs, maintenance strategies, and technical standards.
  • Investigate process or equipment failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
