About The Position

In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to produce and test the SMC material that is used to make fiberglass skins. This role involves data entry, receiving bulk materials, charting data, reacting to production issues, performing preventative maintenance, and obtaining samples for quality testing. The position requires various certifications including E21, Forklift, Crane, and Hazardous Waste.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months to one year related experience preferred.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • E21 certification
  • Forklift certification
  • Crane certification
  • Hazardous Waste certification

Nice To Haves

  • Occasionally lifting/handling up to 100 lbs
  • Frequently lifting/handling up to 50 lbs
  • Constantly lifting/handling up to 20 lbs
  • Reach overhead to take down pipes and change film 3-4 times per shift
  • Handle acetone to place in buckets (up to 40 lbs)
  • Clean machine pipes, and dispose of liquid
  • Use compressed air to clean machine and blow glass lines (7ft high)
  • Clean boxes, and adjust box-adjuster valves up to 75 times per shift
  • Pushing and wheeling heavy objects to designated areas

Responsibilities

  • Collect data, including triple shaft inputs, sheet weight, and moisture levels.
  • Receive bulk materials, confirming part numbers, correct transfer line hook up, and weight.
  • Chart data, including viscosities, triple shaft inputs, sheet weight, and maturation room temperature/humidity.
  • React to out-of-control production issues per the SMC Line Control Plan.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work in compliance with OAM and Ivara.
  • Obtain samples for quality testing.
  • Operate floor scrubber.
  • Other duties as assigned.
