About The Position

KODE Labs is seeking a full-time Application Engineer to support the core features of its smart building platform, KODE OS. The role works with cross-functional teams to ensure applications are deployed according to standards, meet client needs, and deliver value. The engineer will enable current and future platform applications, address deployment challenges, and help ensure solutions are optimized, documented, and aligned with clients’ operational goals.

Requirements

• Experience in the Smart Building, IoT, or software engineering space.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems, including practical applications.
• Solid data analysis skills and ability to work across diverse data sets and translate insights into action.
• Proficiency in programming or scripting, such as Python or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design scalable solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with technical and client-facing teams.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) or other building automation applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and enable core applications and future KODE OS features.
• Identify and resolve deployment gaps or blockers, designing custom workflows, routines, or adapters when needed.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and Client Success teams to ensure applications work seamlessly and meet client-specific use cases.
• Interpret and review technical documentation, including mechanical drawings and sequences of operations, to plan and execute application enablement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges so applications deliver meaningful results and insights for clients.
• Provide feedback to improve processes, deployment standards, and product capabilities.
• Support clients and partners by ensuring applications are optimized, documented, and aligned with operational goals.
