About The Position

The Merchandiser presents products to attract consumers at customer retail locations and services and maintains multiple convenience retail, drug, and value accounts. The role involves merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. The Merchandiser follows plan sets and planograms and communicates with store management and cross-functional personnel. This route serves customers in the Gastonia, North Carolina area, with mileage reimbursement for travel from store to store.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Effective listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to meet the needs of customers with differing demands and expectations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including repetitive lifting of 50 pounds.
Ability to work reliably and independently with little daily supervision.
Critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
Valid in-state driver's license.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of insurance verifying current liability and property damage coverage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage, with a deductible of $500 or less, effective from the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

Fill, merchandise, and rotate products in cold vaults and on shelves according to procedures and special programs.
Move products from the sales floor to cold vaults and displays.
Create and distribute point-of-sale materials, displaying them where permitted.
Fill and merchandise coolers and sales-floor displays within customer outlets.
Organize and maintain back-room coolers by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor.
Arrange for empty shells, damaged products, and out-of-date products to be returned for driver pickup; dispose of cardboard and plastic.
Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests and discussions about pricing, special programs, new opportunities, and upcoming activities.
