Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned turf equipment at customer locations. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Shop Foreman. Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products. Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere and competitive equipment and technology, including skid loaders, mini excavators, 4-wheel front loaders, compact utility tractors, utility vehicles, and commercial and residential mowing equipment. Possesses extensive diagnostic and repair capabilities for 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines. Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians. Provides delivery support as needed, including equipment pick-up and delivery. Conducts or supports customer clinics. Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required. Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders. Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and timely submission of information. Participates in John Deere University and Dealer Training programs required for skill and knowledge development. Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Additional duties as assigned.
