About The Position

We are currently seeking a skilled Small Engine Mechanic to inspect, service, and repair motorized and non-motorized power equipment, machinery, and tools. You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues and perform the repairs necessary to keep our equipment running safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Licensed Small Engine Mechanic or Apprentice
  • Proficient with a variety of hand tools, screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers and other tools
  • Able to use compression gauges, ammeters, and voltmeters to test engine performance
  • Experience with pneumatic tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Detail-oriented and dexterous
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, and occasionally up to 80lbs and perform the essential duties of the position

Responsibilities

  • Discuss equipment issues, maintenance plans, and work performed with the lead mechanic
  • Perform routine engine maintenance, such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs
  • Sharpen saw blades and other small equipment tools
  • Test and inspect rental equipment after each rental period for damages and proper function
  • Record any damages or malfunctions for management
  • Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts
  • Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used
