About The Position

This job is responsible for leading a group of team leaders and employees who develop strategies and drive analytics to understand portfolio risk, increase profitability, and optimize operational performance. Key responsibilities include setting strategic priorities for the team, identifying trends, and leading efforts to maximize risk versus return for the business unit. Job expectations include using data and analytics to solve complex problems, coaching employees, and partnering across technology, product, and risk leadership to drive performance. Requirements

  • Candidate must have experience & knowledge of acquisition basics of targeting and marketing, with a track record of optimizing campaign performance
  • Understanding of typical marketing channels like direct mail, email, digital, finance center, etc.
  • Proficient in SAS/SQL with hands on experience querying and analyzing large data sets
  • Experience working with Quantitative Analytics to inform model and/or targeting tools
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems through structured analytics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, scenario modeling, etc.
  • Experience developing and executing business strategy & roadmap planning
  • Ability to work across functional lines and organizational levels to drive results
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and improve upon existing processes for optimization
  • Ability to manage varied set of priorities, both planned and ad-hoc, and adapt within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. High level of multi-tasking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; Comfortable packaging and presenting complex information and insights in a clear and compelling manner to strategic partners and leaders

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred)
  • Experience leveraging analytics and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes department-wide strategies and oversees portfolio trend analysis, forecasting, and risk/control performance
  • Leads innovation by identifying and championing large scale initiatives that improve the risk management, profitability, and control oversight of risks for the business unit
  • Identifies business trends based on economic and portfolio conditions and communicates findings to senior management
  • Coaches employees on best practices for structuring complex problems, performing analysis, and communicating the results and implications of their work
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with peers and counterparts across product, technology, and business control functions
  • Manages targeting strategy and campaign design for SB Card monthly campaigns that drive 300k+ account bookings annually
  • Owns the targeting models end-to-end and ensures we are training as well as enhancing our models with the latest results, trends and policies to maximize campaign performance and optimize the use of marketing budget
  • Champions the development of campaign strategies including offer & channel details and partner with all required stakeholders to execute the campaign (legal, compliance, UCRA, MDUG, channel partners, etc.)
  • Serves as the primary owner for acquisition performance management, delivering actionable insights, executive reporting, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Monitors key business outcomes including account growth, response rates, approval rates, profitability, and campaign ROI to inform future investment and targeting decisions.
  • Leads the tech projects related to offer capabilities like Gaming logic within application decisioning or Pre-qualification functionality for SB Card; this will include participation in PI planning, user testing, validation and roll-out activities
