About The Position

The Small Arms Repair Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and service of small arms and associated equipment within a civilian military maintenance facility. This position also supervises multiple sections, including the Allied Trades section (consisting of a tool and die maker, welder, painter, and body mechanic), the EVT section (two emergency vehicle technicians), and the ETM Shop (responsible for maintenance of military radios and night vision devices). The supervisor ensures all assigned sections operate efficiently, adhere to safety standards, and meet mission requirements. This role requires attending weekly meetings, preparing reports, and briefing leadership on section activities.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and an associate’s degree in related field or equivalent experience. 5 Years’ experience in maintenance management may be substituted for each year of education.
Must be experienced operating within GCSS-Army at a functional level appropriate for assigned responsibilities in MMD, Plant 2000.
Ability to exercise discretion and good sound judgment with a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
Must be able to multitask and complete assignments accurately and on time.
Must possess and present a valid state Real I.D. Driver’s License.
Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be a self-starter; able to work as a team or independently, with limited supervision.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams).
Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to new or changing instructions.
Must be able to multi-task and complete assignments accurately and on time.
Must be able to maintain high standards of confidentiality.
Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Overtime may be required.
Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.

Responsibilities

Must be able to read and comprehend technical manuals and publications to interpret specifications, tolerance limits, troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Ensures all work is accomplished IAW with the applicable Army regulations, DA PAMs, Technical Manuals, Technical Bulletins, Repair Manuals, and Company policies.
Performs administrative duties and responsibilities that are common to most supervisory personnel.
Supervise daily operations of the small arms repair shop, ensuring timely and accurate maintenance of weapons and related equipment.
Manage the Allied Trades section, overseeing fabrication, welding, painting, and body repair tasks.
Oversee EVT section operations, ensuring emergency vehicles are maintained and repaired to required standards.
Direct ETM Shop activities, ensuring proper repair and maintenance of military radios and night vision devices.
Assign work orders, monitor progress, and ensure quality control across all supervised sections.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to technical manuals, safety procedures, and quality standards.
Coordinate with other supervisors, managers, and departments to support mission readiness.
Prepare weekly reports on work accomplished, upcoming requirements, and any issues affecting operations.
Attend weekly meetings and brief leadership on section status, challenges, and achievements.
Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for all supervised personnel.
Maintain records of repairs, inventory, and equipment status.
Enforce all safety regulations and ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Supervise tests, inspections, repairs, services, maintenance, transport, and processing/de-processing of commercial or tactical equipment.
Reviews schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning repair parts requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering facility limitations and time constraints.
Makes decisions regarding improving productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.
Develops/ensures compliance with procedures and ensures adherence to Government and project standards as required.
Provide verbal and/or written (electronic) readiness status as requested.
Prepare/submit/maintain records, reports, submittals, and standards required by Performance Work Statement, Army Regulations, Technical Bulletins, Technical Manuals and DA Pamphlets.
Confirm certification, licensing, and training of employees.
Coordinates with management to read and understand labor reports, funding, invoicing, ensures employees are correctly coding and managing their time.
Acts as the point of contact for customer inquiries and status requests and provides output reports and documentation from GCSS-Army as requested by the government or customers.
Reviews work procedures and processes to ensure contract compliance.
Ensures the master technical library for all equipment is properly maintained.
Translates support requests into accounting and management information input documents, identifying skills, manpower requirements, work classifications, priorities and contract applicability.
Develops management information reports.
Interprets reports, develops man-hour backlog and identifies trends and potential maintenance problems.
Ensures the timely submittal of deliverables and reports.
Coordinates all actions required to ensure that new equipment is logistically supportable.
Coordinates and manages the Installation Warranty Repair Program.
