About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor, Armament to work in Fort Hood, TX. The Maintenance Supervisor, Armament is the principal assistant to the Project Manager on all matters pertaining to the maintenance armament mission. This role oversees and coordinates the inspection, repair, and operational readiness of military weapons, small arms, artillery, and tactical armament systems. The position is responsible for evaluating problematic systems and determining what installation or repair services need to be performed.

Requirements

Extensive hands-on experience in feeder military occupational specialties (such as small arms repair or tactical maintenance).
Deep understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and fire-control systems related to weaponry.
Ability to manage team workflows, mentor personnel, and enforce compliance with military regulations.
7+ years of documented supervisory experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in U.S. Army material maintenance.
Skills in verbal and written communications to conduct meetings, execute plans, and prepare reports, plans, and working instructions.
Ability to provide information and reports, resolve issues and recommend actions to improve delivery of services to the customers.
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.
Ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.

Nice To Haves

10+ years of shop level experience as a technician and understanding of quality systems.
10+ years Army maintenance experience.
45 series U.S. Army Military Occupational Specialty Maintenance Experience.
Valid Driver License.
Commercial Driver's License with Passenger Endorsement.
Minimum of Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.

Responsibilities

Hires workers, organizes schedules, and assigns work activity.
Performs training to ensure individuals have all the requisite skills.
Develops and implements maintenance procedures.
Maintains personnel skills records.
Evaluates each worker's performance to ensure quality operations.
Investigates accidents and prepares relevant reports.
Directs maintenance crews and technicians performing field-level or direct-support maintenance on weapons and weapon systems.
Mentors and trains subordinate soldiers.
Plans work schedules, assigns workloads based on personnel capabilities, and estimates the time required for repairs.
Ensures strict adherence to safety standards, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams.
Manages quality control and production control programs.
Manages equipment accountability, inventory, technical publication files, and maintenance records or reports.
