The Hardware Engineering, Shipboard Effectors AUR Department is currently seeking an experienced Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to work on a multi-discipline team in support of the Standard Missile 2 (SM-2) IIICU / SM-6 IU program located in Tucson, AZ. The SM-2 IIICU / SM-6 IU program is searching for a Mechanical Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL). The CPTL will be responsible for overseeing the technical execution of a mechanical team of engineers supporting the IU/IIICU EMD program. This position requires a strong, dynamic leader to serve as the Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL) supporting the Standard Missile program. Candidate will work closely with the Hardware IPTL, Office of the Chief Engineer and Program Managers to ensure that engineering requirements are defined, risks are managed, and schedules/budgets are met. Candidate will ensure Technical Data Packages are maintained and updated as necessary. Experience with hardware integration and test, root cause and corrective action and failure investigation principles are strongly desired. This individual should understand all aspects of mechanical design, from CCA level through All Up Round (AUR) and will support preliminary and detailed design cycles for the EMD program. The CPTL will be involved across the product teams and allocate resources as needed to align with program priorities. As the mechanical voice from a program level, the CPTL will be responsible for ensuring quality peer reviews for all mechanical work production and be a member of the CCB panel. As the program progresses, this individual will be the mechanical architect for the POM design as the program transitions from POD to POM after design verification testing. This individual will be required to be cognizant of the program test philosophy and test events as they would provide technical input and review during the design verification phase. Additionally, the individual shall be part of any failure investigations and be able to provide mitigation strategies for test failures. Throughout the duration of the program, this individual will also provide mentorship and coaching to the entire mechanical team and provide program priorities and strategies to the mechanical team.
