About The Position

The Slot Technician troubleshoots and provides maintenance of all gaming equipment components for Electronic Games, Keno and Bingo networks and associated assemblies. This role requires a strong understanding of electronics, electrical systems, and computer hardware, along with excellent problem-solving and customer service skills. The position involves working in a 24/7 casino environment and adhering to strict gaming regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, and computer hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as maintain a current work log.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and/or other department employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Work well on group and/or solo projects with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to self-motivate.
  • Previous experience as a Slot Technician for 3 years or more or some experience and technical education (Level II).
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, computer hardware, and slot machine technology (Level II).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure (Level II).
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills (Level II).
  • Thorough understanding of gaming regulations and compliance requirements (Level II).
  • Ability to pass a skills assessment to determine readiness (Level II).
  • Class III Gaming License
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and an acceptable driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of gaming regulations and compliance is a plus (Level I).
  • Technical education or relevant certifications in electronics or a related field is a plus (Level II).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with electronic gaming machines.
  • Replace faulty components and parts to repair machines and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Assist in setting up and configuring new electronic gaming machines.
  • Install and update software, including game themes and promotional content.
  • Ensure machines are configured to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Install, repair, and maintain peripheral devices associated with gaming.
  • Work on other gaming equipment such as Keno, Bingo, ETGs, & Sportsbook.
  • Enter secure rooms to export reports from different systems with varying applications.
  • Administer user accounts for different applications, including Active Directory.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Assist attendants with machine operation and routine functions.
  • Follow all gaming regulations, including reporting any irregularities to regulators.
  • Keep accurate records of machine maintenance, repairs, and activities.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on a regular schedule to avoid machine breakdowns.
  • Clean and inspect slot machines for signs of wear and tear, replacing worn components.
  • Maintain an inventory of machine parts and supplies.
  • Order and restock spare parts and consumables as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other slot technicians and casino staff to ensure a smooth gaming operation.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of electronic gaming machines (Level II).
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on a regular basis to minimize machine downtime (Level II).
  • Oversee the replacement of complex machine components and parts (Level II).
  • Program and update software for game themes, promotional content, and compliance (Level II).
  • Provide exceptional customer service by promptly addressing internal customer inquiries (Level II).
  • Train and mentor Slot Technician I personnel in machine operation and customer interaction (Level II).
  • Ensure strict adherence to gaming regulations and promptly report any non-compliance or irregularities to the appropriate authorities (Level II).
  • Maintain comprehensive records of machine maintenance, repairs, and compliance-related activities (Level II).
  • Manage an inventory of machine parts and supplies (Level II).
  • Order and restock spare parts and consumables, maintaining accurate records (Level II).
  • Provide technical support to Slot Technician I staff and other casino personnel in diagnosing and resolving complex machine issues (Level II).
  • Collaborate with machine manufacturers or vendors for advanced technical assistance (Level II).
  • Assist end users with gaming applications (Level II).
  • Guide Slot Technician I personnel, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient operations (Level II).
  • Participate with the MIS Manager in the development of training programs and mentoring to improve the skills and knowledge of junior technicians (Level II).
  • Responsible for Internal Control and Compact compliance regarding LCCR Operations and ensure compliance with regulations of the Tribal Gaming Commission.
