About The Position

The Slot Technician I is responsible for performing a wide variety of diagnoses and repairs of slot machines, with infrequent assistance. This role requires extensive knowledge of both the mechanical and electronic aspects of slot machine repair and involves providing training or assistance to less experienced technicians. The position is responsible for the installation and removal of gaming devices, day-to-day preventative maintenance, troubleshooting ticket-in/ticket-out and coin machines, performing hopper tests, and clearing coin and bill jams. The technician will also assist in game conversions and firmware upgrades, investigate ticket issues, maintain inventory, and calibrate currency validators. This role requires performing repairs and preventative maintenance on all slot machines, cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces, and adhering to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
Electronic background or minimum two-year experience in slot operations.
Two (2) or more years’ experience in the Gaming Industry or an equivalent customer service environment.
Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery.
Must successfully pass background check.
Must successfully pass drug screening.
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Knowledge of team leadership and motivational skills.
Knowledge of electronics at the circuit board level.
Knowledge of technical experience and training with slots.
Knowledge of electronic and computer programming.
Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable entertainment experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze and respond to a variety of customer service related issues.
Repair and maintenance of component level electronic circuitry in gaming devices.
Installation and removal of gaming devices.
Perform day to day preventative maintenance; troubleshoot ticket-in ticket-out and coin machines; perform hopper tests; clear coin jams and bill validator jams.
Assist in game conversions and firmware upgrades.
Investigate and verify any ticket issues.
Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
Maintain and calibrate currency validators, execute machine moves, game conversions, installations, and floor upgrade of current ticket-in ticket out products.
Investigate device malfunctions of various gaming devices and clear coin bill and coin jams.
Perform the day to day repair and preventative maintenance of all slot machines.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
Perform work regularly, predictably and in a professional manner.
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work and public spaces.
Perform work regularly and adhere to all Virginia Lottery Regulations.
