About The Position

The Sky Room Server is responsible for upholding Fairmont Breakers' values and mission statement while performing positional responsibilities. This role adheres to company policy and procedures, consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service. The server provides the highest quality service to all guests at all times, by instilling the company philosophy and participating actively in the resolution of guest concerns. Responsibilities include taking orders, answering questions, and making recommendations for menu-listed products, utilizing appropriate upselling techniques. The server will clear, clean, reset, and maintain restaurant tables during the shift, assist other Servers in offering the highest level of service, and understand the processes of delivery and removal of all product and equipment. Handling guest checks according to Hotel policy, maintaining pars and equipment as needed, and completing assigned side work are also key duties. The server will engage and genuinely interact with guests while anticipating their needs, explain food and beverage items in detail, and follow all hotel standards, LQA standards, and Forbes 5 Stars standards while conducting self-audits to ensure 100% compliance. Completion of necessary opening and closing paperwork and side work duties, preparing food and beverage as per guidelines, and following cash handling policies and procedures are required. The role may involve assisting in other F&B areas and/or outlets as needed, performing other related duties as assigned, and displaying a congenial appearance and being well-groomed at all times. The server will assist guests in a friendly, professional, and polite manner, maintain regular and predictable attendance, and follow directions from management.

Requirements

  • Prior serving experience with a minimum of 2 years in a similar restaurant environment.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
  • Requires excellent and polished communication skills
  • Must possess basic math skills and the ability to use a calculator.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
  • Knowledge of Restaurant operations, its services, and facilities.
  • Must have superior guest service abilities as well as a complete understanding of California serving guidelines.
