About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting skilled trades personnel in performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks throughout the district. The role involves supporting electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and other maintenance staff in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of district facilities. The assistant will perform general labor, operate tools and equipment under supervision, and learn various trade skills. This role is crucial for the upkeep and functionality of school buildings and grounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid Nevada Driver's License.
Ability to operate hand and power tools.
Ability to perform heavy physical labor.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair principles is a plus.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a maintenance or construction environment.
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

Assist skilled trades personnel (e.g., electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians) in performing maintenance and repair tasks.
Perform general labor duties such as carrying materials, cleaning work areas, and site preparation.
Operate hand and power tools and equipment under the direction of skilled trades staff.
Learn and apply basic principles of various trades.
Respond to work orders and assist in completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Ensure work areas are clean and safe.
Perform routine inspections and report any issues or deficiencies.
Assist with inventory and stocking of supplies and materials.
Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
