Under immediate supervision, performs unskilled and semi-skilled work in assisting and supporting craft and trade personnel in the construction, maintenance, repair, and servicing of District systems, facilities, vehicles, and equipment. This entry-level classification performs routine construction, maintenance, repair, and servicing of District systems, facilities, vehicles, and equipment duties. Incumbents may be assigned to multiple trades areas to assist journey level staff. Work is usually supervised while in progress and fits an established structure or pattern. Exceptions or changes in procedures are explained in detail as they arise. Employees in this classification are subject to on-call, which may include rotating-duty schedule, weekends and 24-hour emergency call out with little or no notice. Receives immediate supervision from assigned supervisory or management personnel. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.
