About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Administrator and the direct supervision of a Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse, the Skilled Nursing Activity Coordinator, CNA (Activity Coordinator) provides a variety of patient care activities across life span and accommodative services for assigned patients. The Activity Coordinator develops, coordinates and manages activities for Skilled Nursing Center patients/ residents. These activities are carried out according to hospital policy, the hospital mission statement, and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent; relevant experience in lieu of High School Diploma/GED education will be considered.
  • Previous experience working with aged or handicapped individuals.
  • Certification in the State of Texas as a Nursing Assistant.
  • Basic Life support Certification through the American heart Association.
  • Certified Activities Director or currently enrolled in state approved activities director course.
  • Knowledge of basic clinical skills to deliver direct patient care to an individual or group of patients including but not limited to vital signs and activities of daily living.
  • Accepts assigned responsibilities as an accountable member of the health care team.
  • Proficient with data entry/computer skills for care documentation.
  • Excellent communication & organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an accredited healthcare facility preferred.
