About The Position

Crossland is seeking a Skilled Laborer to perform a variety of duties on construction projects, generally working in a utility capacity and moving between tasks as needed. The work is usually performed with other workers and requires the ability to continue independently after receiving direction. This physically demanding position involves outdoor work, work at heights, and travel as needed. Successful candidates must complete a drug screen, physical, and criminal background check. Requirements

Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and travel as needed.
Ability to work without close supervision once directed on a task.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally and 40–50 pounds frequently.
Ability to frequently climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle materials or tools.
Successful completion of a drug screen, physical, and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines.
Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms.
Signal construction equipment operators to help align, move, and adjust machinery to meet grade specifications.
Level earth to fine-grade specifications using a pick and shovel.
Mix concrete using a float, trowel, and screed.
Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, or paint through a hose to clean, coat, or seal crevices.
Grind, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete, marble, terrazzo, or wood flooring using abrading tools or machines.
Perform tasks using hands and tools, including demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and cutting and attaching insulating materials.
Follow job-site safety rules and encourage others to do the same.
Maintain good relationships with co-workers and work collaboratively to complete tasks.
