About The Position

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is seeking a Skilled Laborer for its Commercial Maintenance Division to support apartment renovation and maintenance projects throughout Los Angeles County. The role involves construction and maintenance work such as framing repairs, drywall installation and patching, flooring repairs, demolition, and general property maintenance in occupied and vacant apartments. The successful candidate will use hand and power tools and complete assignments efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship and safety standards.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed. The position pays $21 to $28 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Recent and relevant experience in carpentry, maintenance, or a related trade.
• Must provide basic hand and/or power tools necessary to perform assigned work.
• Proficient English communication skills to write reports and emails.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Physical ability to grip, grasp, twist, climb, and descend stairs with or without construction materials.

Nice To Haves

• Multi-craft experience with at least four years of experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general construction maintenance in residential and commercial spaces.
• Complete metal and wood framing repairs.
• Install, repair, and finish drywall.
• Apply texture and finish work as directed by the construction supervisor.
• Demolish existing doors, windows, cabinets, and walls.
• Install doors, cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures as directed.
• Work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
