About The Position

Under general supervision, performs duties involved in the construction, alteration, modification, and/or maintenance of buildings and facilities.

Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, processes, methods, tools, and materials used in the construction trade
Knowledge of the use and care of standard construction equipment, tools, machine operated equipment
Knowledge of occupational hazards and the safety practices of the trade
Basic knowledge of blueprints and specifications
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to work effectively with other employees
Ability to meet and deal with the public with courtesy and tact
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.
Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
Work involves working indoors and outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
Work involves sitting and standing for long periods of time.
Work involves frequent typing, walking and bending, lifting and stooping for short periods of time.
Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of up to 30 pounds.
Applicant must have at least two years paid experience in the general construction field, and must be able to demonstrate proficiency in two or more of the following areas: Concrete work, Steel work, Rough carpentry, Finish carpentry, Roofing; glazing, Masonry, Floor and ceiling finishing, Millwork, Drywall
Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.
