About The Position

The Skilled Concrete Finisher is responsible for placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete to ensure high-quality surfaces that meet grade and finish specifications on roadway, curb, and flatwork projects. This is a full-time role.

Requirements

3+ years of concrete finishing experience required.
Proven ability to perform all phases of concrete finishing work independently.
Ability to read grade stakes and follow project specifications.
Strong knowledge of finishing techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA and company policy. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Coveralls, Fall Protection, Gloves, Welding Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Welding Aprons, Welding Helmet, Welding Shield.

Nice To Haves

Experience with roadway, curb and gutter, or heavy civil projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete to specified grade and finish requirements.
Perform all aspects of concrete finishing including screeding, floating, edging, jointing, and troweling.
Produce a variety of finishes including broom, trowel, and other specified textures.
Check surface levels, slopes, and alignment to ensure conformance with project specifications.
Operate hand and power tools used in finishing work, including screeds, floats, trowels, and vibratory equipment.
Assist with placement of concrete during pours to support proper finishing outcomes.
Read grade stakes and basic layout to maintain proper elevations and drainage.
Work closely with crew members and Foreman to coordinate timing of pours and finishing activities.
Perform minor patching, repair, and surface corrections as needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Follow all safety procedures and job site protocols.
Assist with other job site duties as needed to support project completion.
Other duties as assigned.
