About The Position

Great Place Construction (GPC) is looking for a SKILLED CONCRETE FINISHER for full-time, year-round positions. We are a private construction firm specializing in commercial design/build projects and need reliable, skilled commercial construction tradesmen to join our team. We offer advancement opportunities as we are growing and will provide training for various skill sets. This role involves preparing, placing, and finishing concrete, constructing and stripping formwork, installing reinforcement steel, and operating mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have previous concrete work experience, including form setting and operating power tools, and a willingness to learn. We provide daily transportation to and from a designated pick-up location in Sioux Falls, SD.

Requirements

• Previous concrete work/experience including setting of wall and flatwork forms, operation of power screed and power trowels
• Ability to read reinforcing steel drawings and basic structural foundation plans is desired
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs unassisted on a frequent basis
• May have to push/pull up to 100lbs on an infrequent basis
• Frequent walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing
• Valid DL and good driving record
• Knowledge of various tools associated with duties noted above

Responsibilities

• Prepare, place, and finish concrete
• Construct, place, and strip formwork
• Install reinforcement steel in accordance with project specific documents
• Place and strike concrete with mechanical equipment
• Finish, edge, and cut placed concrete
• Clean up and properly maintain tools associated with this work
• Work with field supervision to coordinate entire concrete installation process
