About The Position

Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. is seeking a Skilled Concrete Finisher for a full-time position. This role involves placing, finishing, protecting, and repairing concrete to ensure high-quality surfaces on roadway, curb, and flatwork projects. The position requires availability for both day and night shifts and reports to the Site Foreman. The ideal candidate is a skilled craftsman with a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality.

Requirements

3+ years of concrete finishing experience required.
Proven ability to perform all phases of concrete finishing work independently.
Ability to read grade stakes and follow project specifications.
Strong knowledge of finishing techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing and meet Company driving eligibility requirements.
This position requires the operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV). The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT medical card) and meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual.
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with roadway, curb and gutter, or heavy civil projects preferred.

Responsibilities

Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete to specified grade and finish requirements.
Perform all aspects of concrete finishing including screeding, floating, edging, jointing, and troweling.
Produce a variety of finishes including broom, trowel, and other specified textures.
Check surface levels, slopes, and alignment to ensure conformance with project specifications.
Operate hand and power tools used in finishing work, including screeds, floats, trowels, and vibratory equipment.
Assist with placement of concrete during pours to support proper finishing outcomes.
Read grade stakes and basic layout to maintain proper elevations and drainage.
Work closely with crew members and Foreman to coordinate timing of pours and finishing activities.
Perform minor patching, repair, and surface corrections as needed.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
Follow all safety procedures and job site protocols.
Assist with other job site duties as needed to support project completion.
Other duties as assigned.
