About The Position
Cascades is hiring a Skid Steer Operator at its Buffalo facility. The operator safely loads, processes, grades, and sorts materials using a skid steer and supports plant operations. The role requires daily equipment inspections, adherence to safety procedures, and use of required personal protective equipment. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with starting pay of $19 to $20 depending on experience.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of related experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid skid steer certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report safety concerns.
- Safely load materials from storage areas using a skid steer.
- Process, grade, and sort materials according to supervisor instructions.
- Assist with manual loading of specialized materials as needed.
- Direct incoming vehicle traffic and coordinate with plant operators.
- Follow safety procedures and complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
- Wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, and a high-visibility vest.
- Operate equipment safely and avoid unsafe actions.
- Follow lockout procedures during maintenance or cleaning.
- Remain aware of workplace hazards, including moving vehicles, equipment, and slippery surfaces.
