About The Position

The Ski and Ride School Supervisor oversees the daily operations of assigned departments within Crystal Mountain’s Ski and Ride School. The role requires collaboration, sound decision-making in a fast-paced environment, and leadership of instructors. Supervisors help create and assign classes, support staff and guests, monitor lessons, and ensure accurate class and timekeeping records. This is a seasonal, full-time, hourly position at Crystal Mountain, Washington, running approximately November 14, 2026, through April 18, 2027. The position reports to the Ski & Ride School Director and Managers, and instructors report to this role. The stated wage range is $25.00 to $30.00, depending on experience.

Requirements

Supervisory experience in a snowsports school.
Prior experience working with children.
Ability to create and implement ideas for positive youth experiences on snow.
Ability to delegate effectively and carry out operational activities as part of a team.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills at all levels.
Leadership skills, including the ability to assess, motivate, and train staff.
Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position at least 50 pounds occasionally.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer and common office equipment on a constant basis.
Auditory and visual acuity to communicate using computers, phones, mobile devices, and basic office equipment on a constant basis.
Ability to work for extended periods while on skis or a snowboard.
Ability to spend long periods outside without breaks, for a minimum of two hours, in a variety of weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Level 2 PSIA/AASI certification, with children-specific training experience.
Five or more years of experience in snowsports operations.
Experience with the Flaik Snowsports Management Tool.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily setup and takedown of the assigned area.
Monitor sales and work collaboratively to resolve staff shortages and scheduling conflicts with the Supervisor and Administrative Teams.
Create appropriate classes based on student abilities, ages, and class-size goals.
Assign instructors to classes and other duties based on their experience and capabilities.
Accurately record class and timekeeping information using Flaik scanners and other payroll processes.
Communicate staff training needs, procedural inefficiencies, pay issues, and employee engagement issues to the Senior and Administrative Manager.
Mentor and train instructors on school policies, practices, and lineup responsibilities.
Collect information from instructors during lineup about students’ ability levels and goals.
Monitor classes on the snow, support instructors when needed, and provide feedback on their performance.
Facilitate and supervise lunchtime when applicable to the assigned department.
Act as the point person for guest recovery scenarios in the assigned area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
