About The Position

Cenveo, a world leader in the management and distribution of print and related offerings is seeking a Six Color Press Operator for its Mt. Pleasant, PA facility. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years' prior web or sheetfed press printing experience. Requirements

Minimum educational requirement is a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Several years of experience in web or sheetfed press printing operations.
Good knowledge of problem solving on press
Good knowledge of how to mix and produce correct colors in printing
Knowledge of federal and state hazardous waste handling and disposal regulations
Excellent math and color perception skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines
Ability to operate press equipment and detect malfunctions
Ability to operate press equipment and correct print defects
Ability to read, understand and apply written instructions and to set up press
Must be able to work OT as needed up to 12 hours, days/nights and front end/back end of the week

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, operates or directs operation of (one or multi-color) printing press to print in accordance with job orders.
Reads instructions and sets up or directs set-up of press based on these instructions.
Makes job ready by running samples to adjust print quality, registration, color settings and mixings.
Makes final pre-run inspection of job and approves or confers with supervisor for approval.
Responsible for the quality of printed work within defined levels of authority.
Monitors PH and conductivity of fountain solution on offset press.
Performs preventative maintenance on presses such as lubrication, replacement of small parts, cleaning and minor adjustments to rollers and other small moving parts.
Maintains and reads Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Sees to the proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals.
Operates or assists on other pressroom equipment and presses if needed and when workload permits.
Press cleaning and keeping immediate work area neat and orderly.
Complies with safety rules and regulations (wear proper safety attire; steel toed shoes or coverings, hearing protection, safety glasses, shields and gloves as needed), is not involved in horseplay, is cautious when near equipment and machines, always make sure safety guards and contactors are in place and operational. Maintains housekeeping in work area (sweeps, removes waste, etc).
