As Site Technician, you will play a key role as part of our Operations department by focusing on the execution of maintenance on Wind Farm Balance of Plant equipment. This will include substation, underground and overhead lines. You will also assist the Site Manager in managing Service contract with the Turbine OEM. This is an onsite role.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in a technical field or completion of a technical certificate/degree program.
  • Electrical testing considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
  • Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 100 meters/300 feet and lift up to 25 kg
  • Experience in construction and energy infrastructure and maintenance considered an asset.
  • Experience using Office 365

Responsibilities

  • Implement Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conduct field work in compliance with OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) applicable regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture.
  • Support site manager for all phases of timely Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental inspections and reporting, financial reporting, turbine availability and Balance of Plant monitoring, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Observe and ensure completion of work carried out by the Maintenance Provider for turbines.
  • Monitor and maintain the infrastructure of the facility, including roadways, collection systems and transmission lines.
  • Collaborate closely with Northland Operations teams on maintenance and outages, improvement projects, development, and financial performance.
  • Maintain power generation reports and computer database as well as interpret fault reports.
  • Be available for on call and after hours, on a schedule.
