About The Position

The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. This role can apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues related to technology. Works on problems /projects of moderately complex scope. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations for technology solutions. Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems / projects of diverse complexity and scope. May act as part of a team but also require the ability to work independently. Ability to handle unique situations requires a broad knowledge of technology. May seek advice to make decisions on complex business issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years related experience and/or training
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with infrastructure environments (e.g. operating systems, server/desktop hardware, data centers, security, network, voice, end user applications)
  • Strong experience with IT business applications.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and function as a team member.
  • This role is customer service focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • This role will be required to travel to multiple sites so the candidate must be flexible with the ability to roll with last minute changes to schedule.
  • Role will be based out of Moses Lake but will help cover the Pasco, Othello and Moses Lake region as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of an IT technical team.
  • Performs basic analysis of functional or service requirements using fundamental understanding of IT Business process or problems.
  • Implements end-user or enterprise infrastructure or application services prepared by more senior Engineers.
  • Resolves technical issues of moderate complexity within a given technical area. Partners with members of a given team or other IT teams as appropriate. Identifies potential escalations and proactively alerts management. Provides solutions to prevent problems from occurring in areas of responsibility including patch management.
  • Daily job duties could include anything technology related including but not limited to, monitoring tickets, resolving end users’ issues surrounding printers, badge readers, cameras, laptops, desktops, monitors, timeclocks, conference room technology, phones, etc.
  • Partnering with the site to help solve any technical problems that arise.
