About The Position

The Site Services Technician is responsible for maintaining, operating, and repairing the facility’s mechanical, electrical, and utility systems to ensure reliable plant operations. This role supports preventative and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshoots equipment issues, documents work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and adheres to all safety, quality, and GMP standards. The technician will develop technical skills and plant knowledge while contributing to continuous improvement and equipment reliability efforts.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in industrial utilities, mechanical maintenance, or plant operations.
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Familiarity with standard safety practices including LOTO, confined space, and permit-to-work systems.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including HSE, GMP, and food safety policies.
  • Use proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and personal lock-off procedures for all maintenance activities.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as requested by the Site Services Supervisor.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain key utility systems, including: Compressed air systems, Steam boilers and condensate systems, Chillers and refrigeration units, Water treatment and wastewater systems, Electrical panels, generators, and UPS equipment.
  • Perform routine checks, record system readings, and report abnormalities.
  • Support troubleshooting and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
  • Perform HVAC system maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
  • Hold HVAC certification or demonstrate equivalent skills and competence.
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance (PPM) on utility, building, and support systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control system faults.
  • Execute repairs according to site standards and escalate issues beyond own expertise.
  • Use SCADA, BMS, and other plant monitoring systems to track alarms, performance, and operational data.
  • Maintain accurate logs, readings, and documentation in accordance with site procedures.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, such as lighting, door hardware, drainage, and building fabric.
  • Respond to facility-related service requests across production and office areas.
  • Support initiatives to reduce utility consumption and improve equipment efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance improvements and suggest enhancements to preventive maintenance (PM) tasks or frequencies.
  • Assist the Site Services Supervisor during utility-related emergencies (e.g., power outages, leaks, equipment failures).
  • Follow standard operating procedures and safety protocols for emergency conditions.
  • Accurately complete work orders using the CMMS system.
  • Maintain updated records of maintenance activities, system readings, and equipment status.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and other support teams to ensure product safety and operational reliability.
  • Communicate clearly about system issues, completed work, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with production and supporting departments to ensure the food safety and quality of our products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
