The Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) is responsible for providing safety leadership and oversight on construction projects. The SSHO ensures compliance with company policies, project requirements, OSHA regulations, USACE EM 385-1-1, and other applicable safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting job site inspections, leading safety meetings and training, reviewing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs), supporting site-specific safety plans, identifying and mitigating hazards, investigating incidents, and working closely with project management, supervisors, subcontractors, and employees to promote a safe work environment. The SSHO level will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, certifications, technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and project requirements. Candidates with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant construction safety experience are encouraged to apply. This is an opportunity to play a key role in building and maintaining a strong safety culture across active construction projects. The SSHO will work closely with project leadership, field teams, and clients to identify risks, implement effective controls, and ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with applicable requirements.
