About The Position

This position is responsible for developing, managing, administering, maintaining, and supporting assigned technology application infrastructure, performing both complex and routine tasks and projects. The role involves working independently or as part of a team, participating in compliance reviews and audit evidence gathering, and quickly self-educating on emerging technologies. Key aspects include refining business processes, improving efficiencies through technology, and testing, troubleshooting, and resolving highly complex application infrastructure problems. The Site Reliability Engineer will manage and support production, lower tier, and disaster recovery servers and network infrastructure within an enterprise data center environment, support the build-out and modification of infrastructure for projects, and monitor day-to-day operations and backup solutions across all tiers and sites. Additionally, the role entails maintaining and supporting application releases to production, identifying, maintaining, supporting, and testing the Disaster Recovery Plan, monitoring for necessary patching or vulnerability remediation, performing required tasks, configuring computer image builds and patch deployment using the SCCM platform, and identifying infrastructure cost savings and performance enhancement opportunities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in managing Windows and Linux infrastructure for Software as a Service applications.
  • 5+ years’ experience in utilizing cloud platforms and cloud technologies.
  • 5+ years’ experience developing scripts to automate deployments and application maintenance.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Network administration and management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Meraki and Palo Alto network devices.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, administer, maintain, and support assigned technology application infrastructure while performing a variety of both complex and routine tasks and projects.
  • Develop and apply best-of-class engineering concepts, methods, and research techniques to support production, disaster recovery, and lower tiers.
  • Develop and maintain automated tools and processes to manage server deployment, administration, and maintenance.
  • Identify and implement infrastructure improvements, including cost efficiency opportunities, as well as performance efficiencies.
  • Research and review literature and current practices relevant to complex problem resolution or assigned projects.
  • Evaluate, monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with software.
  • Setup, configure, troubleshoot and maintain cloud Windows and Linux servers.
  • Plan, monitor, direct and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Administer and resolve Active Directory issues using AD or Resource Kit utilities.
  • Configure, troubleshoot and resolve DNS, DHCP, FRS and file sharing issues in a Windows environment.
  • Connect and login to local or remote servers to manage and monitor device status.
  • Configure, manage, and monitor Azure/AzureGov environment to provide optimal cost benefit for functions/service provided.
  • Monitor and manage network devices to provide optimal connectivity and performance.
  • Architect and recommend of network engine tools and support systems.
  • Consult teams to determine the appropriate solution for the application’s environment.
  • Install package updates and patches for Windows and Linux Servers.
  • Lead network server engineering projects.
  • Maintain and develop Technical Documentation.
  • Defining Security and Controls for and document them for review.
  • Refine systems throughout the development cycle of the project.
  • Troubleshoot and respond to internal and live server and network issues as needed.
  • Provide Infrastructure subject matter expertise in application development projects.
  • Work closely with application develop team for project work and support/maintenance.
  • Maintain and enhance Azure/AzureGov integrations to any business systems.
  • Troubleshoot and provide support for client file integration issues.
  • Identify infrastructure cost saving opportunities as well as performance efficiencies.
  • Assist other engineers with latency-aware feature design and implementation.
  • Provide support for server and network related issues and manage the technology lifecycle for server components.
  • Collaborate with designers and other engineers for feature development.
  • Setup, configure, troubleshoot and maintain virtual/cloud Windows servers hosted at third party.
  • Evaluate vendor products/capabilities and make recommendations.
  • Partner with third party data centers in administering, monitoring, and configuring windows servers (physical and cloud), firewall, SAN, and load balancers.
  • Partner with internal and/or third-party vendors in developing, deploying, and maintaining automated operations for physical and cloud environments.
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
