The Site Reliability Engineer will join Workday Government’s Infrastructure and Platform Engineering team, supporting one or more direct or indirect U.S. Federal Government contracts. The role operates, monitors, automates, maintains, and provides metrics and observability for a Kubernetes-based platform, enabling engineering teams to deliver capabilities and products quickly and reliably. It requires a strong technical background, a focus on automation, and a collaborative mindset. The role supports the health, availability, scalability, and security of the platform through infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, reporting, incident response, and observability. The engineer will maintain core platform components, automate provisioning and deployments, troubleshoot issues with development teams, uphold security and compliance practices, and document and share platform knowledge. Workday’s flexible work approach combines in-person and remote work, with at least half of each quarter spent in an office or in the field, depending on the role. This position may require on-site work at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA area. Because of federal security requirements, personnel working on the contracts must be U.S. citizens, naturalized or native. The role may require a TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance; an active TS/SCI with CI Poly is preferred.
