Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
About The Position
Genesis10 is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for a 12-month contract position with a Global Financial Institution in Pennington, NJ. This role is part of a team responsible for the reliability and operational health of a large-scale trading platform. The SRE will work hands-on across the technology stack to enhance platform and application observability, drive reliability improvements, and achieve measurable gains in operational efficiency. This position involves close collaboration with core teams to execute platform modernization, cloud migration, and harden production systems, which is crucial for maintaining execution velocity and reducing operational risk.
Requirements
- Strong Python development experience
- Hands-on Django and REST API development
- Strong MySQL/database skills
- Deep Linux administration and troubleshooting experience
- Infrastructure engineering and automation background
- Experience with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Observability and monitoring experience (Dynatrace preferred)
- Experience working in large-scale production environments
Nice To Haves
- Azure and/or AWS Cloud experience (AKS / EKS experience strongly preferred)
- Experience with SRE, Reliability Engineering, and DevOps practices
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks
- Financial Services / Trading Platform experience
- Experience with Splunk and Grafana
- Anyscale / Ray experience
- Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and modern observability tools
Responsibilities
- Actively monitor and support core infrastructure and components
- Execute automation initiatives to improve platform reliability
- Build and enhance internal support tooling
- Resolve infrastructure issues and lead incident response
- Work closely with core teams on platform modernization and migration to the cloud
- Harden production systems to meet reliability and performance objectives
