About The Position

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of FreeWheel platforms. The role involves designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, debugging and optimizing code, and automating routine tasks. The SRE works within a team that combines software and technology-infrastructure expertise, provides subject matter expertise, resolves complex break/fix scenarios, and partners with engineering, vendors, and client services to deliver technical solutions. The role operates with limited supervision and independently develops approaches for non-routine solutions. The SRE is responsible for infrastructure services or platform components and supports FreeWheel platforms and live events, including the Super Bowl, Olympic Games, March Madness, and FIFA World Cup. The position works closely with engineering through the software release cycle and contributes to infrastructure-as-code design and implementation, cybersecurity activities, operational improvements, and the planning, deployment, testing, and evaluation of FreeWheel products. The role requires weekend and night work, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
