The Site Medical Director provides clinical administrative leadership to Howard Brown Health Center. In this role, the Site Medical Director is responsible for the quality of care provided to participants in Primary Care at the assigned site, and for the clinical productivity of the medical provider clinical site staff. The Site Medical Director is a licensed professional prepared in a specialty residency program who manages actual and potential health problems based on the area of specialty. The health conditions include common, complex and/or advanced diseases needing intensive medical supervision of the prescribed treatment plan. The Site Medical Director practices independently and interdependently by collaborating with the advanced practice clinicians, community health nurses and other health care providers. The Site Medical Director is ultimately responsible for the delivery of medical care within the legal parameters established by the Illinois Medical Practice Act. The Site Medical Director also provides direct patient care, and as Physician, the Site Medical Director provides quality primary health care services to special populations, emphasizing the prevention and treatment of disease. The role of the Physician in a community setting is a response to society’s demand for accessible quality health care to all populations regardless of socio-economic status. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the framework outlined below.
