About The Position

This customer site is located in Fishkill, NY. The role involves managing and maintaining material handling systems, with a strong emphasis on mechanical and electrical skills. The Site Manager will track and measure Key Performance Indicators, evaluate data, and implement improvements. They will also build reports and communication materials to demonstrate continuous improvement to the customer. The position requires working experience with MS Office products and identifying predictive maintenance repairs. The Site Manager will assist the Resident Site Maintenance Manager with spare parts inventory management, facility cleanliness and safety, and on-site communication with warehouse operators and management. They will lead building maintenance services, coordinate third-party providers, and ensure processes are in place for emergency downs. Additionally, the role involves maintaining technical procedures, training personnel, and supporting expansions and projects.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience managing and maintaining material handling systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment & components including drives, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers and other related equipment.
  • Strong electrical skills including wiring, AC Power, AC Motors, electrical drawing & schematics, and control panels.
  • Working experience with MS Office products.
  • Typically Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
  • At least five years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower-level exempt employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with the following controls components is highly prized: Servo Drives, PLC, PC Controllers, DC Power Supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Track & measure Key Performance Indicators and Fault Data, evaluate & analyze the data, and implement & direct improvement.
  • Build reports and communication materials to demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of material handling equipment to our customer.
  • Identify predictive maintenance repairs that are required to maintain system availability.
  • Ensure identification and accurate management of spare parts inventories applying Sprocket CMMS.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained clean and safe. Make sure all personnel follow safety rules and practice safe work habits.
  • Provide daily, on-site communication with 3PL’s warehouse operators and management personnel.
  • Lead all aspects of building maintenance services and coordinate third-party service providers where needed.
  • Ensure a process is in place to handle emergency downs (unscheduled vs. scheduled). This shall include procedures to notify Management, resource call-in plans, problem escalation within Dematic’s organization, etc.
  • Maintain an effective, written technical procedure for handling blocking issues and adhere to it. Additionally, train the personnel and ensure compliance with the Dematic escalation protocol.
  • Support expansions, projects, and other changes as the need arises.
