About The Position

This role involves managing and maintaining material handling systems, requiring a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment. The Site Manager will track and measure Key Performance Indicators, evaluate data for improvements, and communicate findings to the customer. Responsibilities include identifying predictive maintenance needs, managing spare parts inventory, ensuring facility safety, and coordinating with warehouse personnel and third-party service providers. The role also involves handling emergency downs, maintaining technical procedures, training personnel, and supporting site expansions and projects.

Requirements

  • Supervisory experience managing and maintaining material handling systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment & components including drives, gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers and other related equipment.
  • Strong electrical skills including wiring, AC Power, AC Motors, electrical drawing & schematics, and control panels.
  • Working experience with MS Office products.
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.
  • Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
  • At least five years of successful experience in a directly related field.
  • Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower-level exempt employees.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and experience with Servo Drives, PLC, PC Controllers, DC Power Supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Track & measure Key Performance Indicators and Fault Data, evaluate & analyze the data, and implement & direct improvement.
  • Build reports and communication materials to demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance and operations of material handling equipment to the customer.
  • Identify predictive maintenance repairs required to maintain system availability.
  • Assist the Resident Site Maintenance Manager with spare parts inventory management using Sprocket CMMS.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained clean and safe, and that all personnel follow safety rules and practice safe work habits.
  • Provide daily, on-site communication with 3PL’s warehouse operators and management personnel.
  • Lead all aspects of building maintenance services and coordinate third-party service providers.
  • Ensure a process is in place to handle emergency downs (unscheduled vs. scheduled), including notification procedures, resource call-in plans, and problem escalation.
  • Maintain an effective, written technical procedure for handling blocking issues and ensure personnel compliance.
  • Train personnel and ensure compliance with the Dematic escalation protocol.
  • Support expansions, projects, and other changes as the need arises.
