About The Position

The Site Coordinator leads the YMCA of Greater St. Petersburg’s Before-and-Afterschool Programs, creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children. The role includes supporting and supervising staff, coordinating program activities, maintaining relationships with families and school personnel, and managing site operations. The schedule is 31 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Complete mandatory child care training MODs.
• Meet at least one of the following qualifications: six early childhood credits from an accredited university or a CDA (Staff Credentials).
• At least one year of experience in a before- or after-school setting.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
• Pass a 10-panel drug screen.
• Clear a Level 2 background check through DCF (Florida).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a weekly program of activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Supervise and guide staff, provide daily support, and conduct performance evaluations.
• Manage child safety, behavior, and engagement.
• Build positive relationships with parents, staff, school faculty, and principals.
• Maintain and organize equipment, supplies, and facilities.
• Track attendance, maintain records, and manage site budgets.
• Promote and market YMCA programs and encourage family participation.
• Ensure compliance with YMCA standards, state licensing, and agency requirements.
• Attend staff meetings and mandatory training, including state-mandated courses.
