About The Position

VHB’s Bedford, NH office is seeking an entry level Site Civil Engineer to support our Land Engineering practice. This role involves working within a team of professionals to develop site civil engineering plans, reports, and specifications for various land development projects. The position will provide civil engineering services for a range of project types including retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy, municipal, and industrial site design, encompassing site layout, grading and drainage design, and utility design. Responsibilities include the preparation and/or review of design criteria, drawings, and specifications, as well as the compilation of stormwater management reports that involve hydrologic modeling and pipe sizing. The role also entails assisting in the preparation of due diligence, permitting, design, and construction documents, technical report writing, and attending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to understand their needs and discuss design/permitting issues. Site visits during the project's course are also part of the job.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • 0-1 years of professional site/civil engineering experience
  • Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

Nice To Haves

  • AutoCAD, HydroCAD, StormCAD, ArcGIS experience a plus
  • Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design preferred

Responsibilities
