About The Position

As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, the Site Civil Coordinator/EIT helps design critical infrastructure and spaces that support the digital age, technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience. The role works with mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil engineering experts on complex design challenges for facilities such as data centers and commercial environments.

The position assists with civil/site engineering work, including site studies and designs, project documentation, and presentations. It handles routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures, completes projects with clear objectives and limited variables, and performs civil/site project management administrative duties. The coordinator may work independently on small projects or assist senior engineers on larger projects.

Candidates hired without an EIT certificate will use the title “Coordinator” and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates hired without an EIT will be expected to obtain it for career progression.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation, and graphic presentation.
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout, and drainage.
• Complete routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
