About The Position

Mount Sinai Queens (MSQ) is seeking a Site Chair for the Department of Medicine and Site Chief for the Division of Hospital Medicine. This role is part of the Samuel Bronfman Department of Medicine, a large academic department within the Mount Sinai Health System. The Site Chair will oversee the clinical, educational, and research activities of the Department at MSQ. As Site Chief, the individual will be responsible for recruiting, developing, mentoring, and managing the performance of faculty within the Division of Hospital Medicine. The Department includes various divisions such as Gastroenterology, General Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Endocrinology, and Psychiatry. The Site Chair will collaborate extensively with hospital leadership at MSQ, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and other leaders across the Mount Sinai Health System. The position requires academic leadership, driving research and educational functions, and advancing the Department's reputation as a nationally recognized clinical and training program. Key responsibilities include mentoring faculty, fostering their development, and recruiting individuals who align with the Department's and institution's missions.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the clinical, educational, and research activities of the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Queens.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and manage the performance of faculty within the Division of Hospital Medicine.
  • Lead and direct the research and educational functions of the Department.
  • Advance the Department's development as a nationally recognized clinical and clinical training program.
  • Mentor and foster faculty development.
  • Identify and recruit faculty that complement and enhance the Department's and institution's missions.
  • Interact extensively with hospital leadership at Mount Sinai Queens, as well as with leadership of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and other leaders throughout the Mount Sinai Health System.
