The Single Shuttle Driver DOT performs daily pickup and delivery routes to domicile drivers and returns empty trailers to the warehouse for reloading. The driver is expected to drive safely and courteously, demonstrate Ben E. Keith principles in interactions with the public, and comply with FMCSA laws and regulations. The role also involves maintaining the cleanliness and condition of tractors and trailers, keeping equipment adequately fueled, and occasionally making customer deliveries between the warehouse and shuttle site as needed. Drivers use dash cameras that leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events, and improve safety performance. Video may also be used to exonerate drivers in accidents. Drivers sign a consent form upon hire confirming their understanding of the system.
