Simulation Specialist (Advisor-Contract)
About The Position
Becht is seeking early to mid-career simulation specialists with significant experience in process and linear program (LP) simulations for a contract-basis flexible work opportunity with a dynamic global organization. The role involves collaborating with domestic and international clients to build and use rigorous process simulations and/or LP models to assist in identifying and evaluating margin, improve and asset strategy opportunities, as well as enhance Supply Chain tools. Responsibilities include performing Heat and Material Balance (HMB) calculations and summaries, building individual unit and site-wide process simulation and LP models, communicating results via Excel, Word, and PowerPoint summaries and reports, and assisting project managers to drive and complete projects. This position is open to global applicants and can be performed remotely.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Industrial, Chemical, or Process Engineering is required.
- Candidate should have 0 to 5 years of direct experience in construction and use of process simulations.
- The candidate for LP models should have 5 to 15 yrs of LP modeling experience.
- Knowledge of refining and petrochemical technologies and economics are essential.
- Advanced business degrees highly desired.
Nice To Haves
- Project management skills and experience are a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of Linear Program (LP) model programs, such as PIMS, GRTMPS, RPMS, PETRO, and others.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial process simulation packages, such as Petro-SIM, HYSYS, Pro-II, and others.
- Creative thinker who can collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Self-motivated with strong work ethic, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Supporting engineers by completing engineering analyses.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and lead process simulation and Linear Program (LP) projects in the Refining and Petrochemical industries for projects within Strategic Planning and Process Solutions division.
- Collaborate with domestic and international clients to build and use process simulations to assist in identifying and evaluating margin improvement and asset strategy opportunities as well as enhancing Supply Chain tools.
- Perform Heat and Material Balance (HMB) calculations and summaries.
- Build individual unit and site wide process simulation and LP models.
- Create Excel, Work, and PowerPoint summaries and reports.
- Assist project managers to drive and complete projects.
- Support ongoing technical activities as an advisor.
- Ensure project deliverables and communications adhere to the expected high quality standards set with Becht.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with our clients.
- Develop proposals to meet client needs.
- Align behaviors to Becht culture and elements of "One Team, One Dream" and understand and leverage social styles to flex to the most effective methods to engage with clients and Becht staff + advisors.
