About The Position

The College of Nursing at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Simulation Lab Coordinator in Boca Raton, FL. The Clinical Skills Simulation Center enhances healthcare education through immersive, hands-on learning experiences that promote clinical excellence, critical thinking, teamwork, and patient safety. The Simulation Lab Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of the Center by managing daily lab activities, maintaining simulation equipment and supplies, and supporting faculty and students in delivering high-quality clinical simulation and skills-based learning experiences. The primary work location for this position is the Boca Raton campus. However, the role will also require travel to—and work at—the Jupiter and Davie campuses.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

  • Background in a healthcare or clinical setting, such as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Respiratory Therapist, or a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and scheduling of simulation and skills lab spaces.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and coordinate troubleshooting with technical staff.
  • Support faculty with setup, teardown, and staging of clinical simulations and skills sessions.
  • Follow and help implement established simulation protocols, safety practices, and accreditation standards.
  • Orient students and faculty to lab procedures, equipment usage, and expectations.
  • Ensure rooms are properly stocked, staged, cleaned, and reset for each activity.
  • Assist with documentation related to learner performance, checklists, and scenario materials.
  • Maintain effective communication with faculty, staff, and students regarding lab activities.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement processes for simulation operations.
  • Coordinate workflow with Simulation Operations Specialist and faculty for smooth session delivery.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
